The Perfect Gift: Honor a Loved One with a Dover Town Library Bookplate!
The Perfect Gift: Your Loved One's Name in a Dover Town Library Book!
We are offering the perfect gift for book lovers: When you make a donation of $100, we will print your loved one’s name on a bookplate to be added to the Dover Town Library’s circulating collection!
Here is how it works:
- Choose the friend or family member you'd like to honor.
- Choose your book category and genre*.
- Make your tax-deductible gift of $100 before December 1, 2021.
- In the week after you make your gift, we will email you a certificate to present to your gift recipient.
- Names of the honoree and donor will be inscribed on a bookplate. The bookplate is illustrated by artist and Dover resident Robin Pedder, and both the giver and recipient’s names will be inscribed by Friends’ Board Member Julia Cavan.
- Books will be purchased and cataloged by the end of March, 2022.
- By May, 2022, you will receive a second certificate with the book's title and call number.

*: Indicate Fiction / Non Fiction and then a genre, if you wish (eg: romance, mystery, cooking, US History etc.). Note that we are unable to accommodate requests for specific titles or narrow genres (eg: we can do "sports", but can't promise "hockey"). Need inspiration for genres? Visit the Minute Man Catalog here.
Note: Proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the Dover Town Library's programming and unique items collection. The bookplate fundraiser is separate from the Friends of the Dover Town Library's Annual Appeal. Click here for more details or to contribute to the Annual Appeal.
Remember: Books, unfortunately, do not last forever. On the bright side, your generosity will never be forgotten! The Dover Town Library single-handedly manages its collection and may withdraw a book from circulation in the future without giving notice to the bookplate purchaser or recipient.
